Michigan S Josh Metellus to Return for Senior Season

Michigan junior safety Josh Metellus will return to play his senior season for the Wolverines.

On Sunday, Metellus made his announcement to return to Michigan on his Twitter. He wrote:

“I just want to thank all the true fans who have stuck with this team through the ups and downs of this past season. Although it wasn’t what we wanted, it still was a great learning experience that I wouldn’t go through with anyone else. This team is special and is going to do special things. I’m excited to come back and play my final year with these men. We are going back to work to reach the goal that we set from the day we walked in the door.”

In early December, Metellus told the media he requested a 2019 NFL Draft evaluation.

”I just want to be in the best position to provide for my family, whether that’s leaving now or coming back next year,” Metellus said. “That’s for me to figure out and however I can do that, I’ll do it.”

ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. did not have Metellus listed as a top draft prospect this year.

Metellus made 47 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss, three interceptions, one defensive touchdown and five passes defended for the Wolverines in 2018.
