Karan Higdon to Forgo Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl

Add another one to the list.

One day after fellow team captain Devin Bush Jr. announced that his injury has precluded him from playing in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, senior running back Karan Higdon took to Instagram to share that he also will not be participating in the Wolverines bowl game.

“These past four years have been nothing less than an unforgettable journey,” Higdon wrote. “I’ve come in as a young man with little knowledge and I now leave as a Michigan Man, full of advice and wise words to share.

”I’ve battled many trials and tribulations while accomplishing many milestones and leaving my footprints at the University of Michigan. After an evaluation with my parents and the UM staff, we have deemed that it is in my best interest to not play in the Peach Bowl and utilize this time to get prepared to pursue my dreams in the NFL.”

In 2018, Higdon played in 11 games and had 1,178 yards and 10 touchdowns. With him sitting, it opens up and opportunity for Chris Evans, Tru Wilson and Christian Turner to get reps against the Florida Gators.

Higdon came to Michigan as a three-star from the state of Florida, who flipped to the Wolverines from Iowa on National Signing Day in 2015. He played sparingly his first two years but came on strong his final two. He was voted team captain heading into his senior season.

His final game in a winged helmet, albeit not for Michigan, will be in the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
