Cornelius Johnson Commits to Michigan

The Wolverines are on a roll, and now they have a breakout wide receiver in the 2019 class to go along with Giles Jackson, George Johnson III and Quintel Kent.

Days after making his official visit to Ann Arbor, Greenwich (CT) New Brunswick four-star wide receiver Cornelius Johnson pledged to the Wolverines in a ceremony held at his school. Johnson chose Michigan over Notre Dame, Alabama, Penn State and Stanford.

It was widely seen as a Michigan – Notre Dame battle for the standout wide receiver who turned heads at The Opening this past summer. Johnson is ranked 185th overall by 247Sports and is the top player in the state of Connecticut and the No. 15 wide receiver overall in 2019.

His commitment moves the Wolverines up to sixth in the 247Sports Composite team rankings, which is tops in the Big Ten. He is the 27th commit in the 2019 recruiting class for Michigan, joining Daxton Hill on Early Signing day on Wednesday.
