Devin Bush Named to Walter Camp All-America First-Team, Chase Winovich to Second-Team

On the heels of Wednesday’s announcement that Michigan junior linebacker Devin Bush Jr., the Big Ten’s defensive player of the year, was named a first-team All-American by Sports Illustrated, he added to his accolades on Thursday night.

The Walter Camp Foundation, one of the thirteen institutions that are recognized for naming and honoring the All-America teams — and one of five that can be considered part of the consensus — agreed with SI, in that Bush is one of the best players in the country. The Wolverines star was named to Walter Camp’s first-team All America team. Bush was named to the Walter Camp second-team All-America unit a year ago.

A player needs but three selections from five of the selecting publications (AP, AFCA, FWAA, Sporting News and WCFF) to earn that particular distinction. Bush now officially has one of those under his belt.

But Bush wasn’t the only Wolverine to be recognized.

Fifth-year senior defensive end Chase Winovich also was honored, being named to the foundation’s second-team All-America group.
