4-star LB Anthony Solomon to Take Michigan, Miami Official Visits Before Finalizing Commitment

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas 2019 four-star linebacker Anthony Solomon recently pulled his Miami (FL) commitment out of his bio on his social media.

While Solomon never made an official decommitment post, he’s clearly rethinking his pledge to the Hurricanes.

The reason for a second thought? Michigan.

“Playing for such a big school like Michigan would be an honor,” Solomon said. “I have a really good relationship with the coaches. Ann Arbor is an amazing place.”

In order to gather his final thoughts and make a finalized collegiate decision, Solomon will officially visit Miami on Dec. 7 and Michigan on Dec. 14.

Quickly following Solomon’s visit to Michigan, he will sign with either the Wolverines or Hurricanes.

“I would like to see if I am comfortable with the players and the community of each campus,” Solomon added. “For me, I feel like no matter what I choose it is a win-win for me.”

Solomon’s primary recruiter from Michigan is defensive coordinator is Don Brown, but he is also close with defensive analyst Devin Bush Sr. and Michigan linebacker Devin Bush Jr.

“I grew up looking up to Devin,” Solomon said. “When I was there, he was telling me about his experience. He loves it there. I think he wants me to come.”

Back in February 2017, Solomon said Michigan was his No. 1 school. Interest dwindled shortly after, but it’s finally heating back up between the prospect and Wolverines.

Even though Solomon’s social media bio no longer includes Miami, he was unable to say if he is currently decommitted from Mark Richt’s staff.

Solomon origionally committed to Miami on April 4, 2018.

The 6-foot, 190-pound prospect has 39 offers – including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Miami (FL), Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

Solomon is ranked No. 196 in the nation, No. 11 at the outside linebacker position and No. 29 in Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite.

The linebacker runs a 4.80-second 40-yard dash, 4.24-second shuttle and has a 33.70-inch vertical.
