Giles Jackson Still Recruiting Purdue 4-star DE Commit George Karlaftis

Even though Purdue coach Jeff Brohm has decided to stick with the Boilermakers, Michigan commit Giles Jackson has not quit recruiting 2019 four-star defensive end George Karlaftis.

George’s brother Yanni Karlaftis told WolverinesWire the West Lafayette (Ind.) product’s only reason for pledging to Purdue was because of his love for Brohm’s coaching style.

Even though Brohm turned down the Louisville job and will remain the head coach at Purdue, Jackson is still going after Karlaftis.

Bold move.

“I try to send him little things about Michigan every now and then,” Jackson said. “He usually responds with, ‘We will see bro.’ Hopefully, he considers us.”

Karlaftis has Purdue and Michigan at the top of his list, but he’s been committed to the Boilermakers since Oct. 20, 2017. Other top offers include USC, Alabama and Clemson.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pound defenisve end is ranked No. 78 in the nation, No. 5 at his position and No. 1 in Indiana, per the 247Sports Composite.

Jackson is a four-star all-purpose back from the 2019 class. He plays high school football for Freedom in Oakley, California. Jackson committed to Michigan on Sept. 10, 2018.
