Colossal Update on 5-star DE Zach Harrison

Zach Harrison has a decision to make – Michigan, Ohio State or Penn State.

The Lewis Center (Ohio) Olentangy Orange 2019 five-star strong-side defensive end prospect is ranked No. 5 in the nation, No. 1 at his position and No. 1 in the state, per the 247Sports Composite.

Harrison, at 6-foot-6, 243 pounds, took a trip to Michigan for its 38-13 win against Wisconsin on Oct. 13. He’s went on official visits to Penn State (April 20), Michigan (June 21) and Ohio State (June 23).

Many current Michigan commits, including Oakley (Calif.) Freedom 2019 four-star all-purpose back Giles Jackson, believe Harrison will end up in Ann Arbor.

“(Harrison) likes the program a lot and we have a good future for him,” Jackson said. “I think we have a good shot.”

Jackson said Harrison keeps in close contact with Columbus (Ohio) St. Francis De Sales 2019 three-star safety Joey Velazquez – a Michigan commit.

“I think it could happen, honestly,” Jackson added. “(Harrison) talks to our other commit Joey mostly because they live so close.”

The comments from Jackson are the first time a recruit has gone on the record hinting at Harrison committing to Michigan.

Harrison’s primary recruiters are linebackers coach Al Washington and defensive line coach Greg Mattison.

The defensive end runs a 4.47-second 40-yard dash, 4.45-second shuttle and has a 37.80-inch vertical. He played in The Opening Finals and will participate in the All-American Bowl on Jan. 5, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas.

Harrison will enroll early, meaning he needs to have a decision locked in by the December early signing period.

Back on July 8, WolverinesWire had the first 247Sports Cyrstal Ball of Harrison to Michigan.
