Michigan Commit Trolls Former Wolverines OC Tim Drevno

There’s no love lost between Michigan fans and former offensive coordinator Tim Drevno.

Drevno, who also oversaw the offensive lines during his tenure at Michigan, never fielded dominant lines in Ann Arbor as he had in previous stops. When the offense sputtered after the departure of pass game coordinator Jedd Fisch for UCLA, fans had had enough.

So when Drevno announced his resignation in the offseason, the maize and blue faithful rejoiced. But the coach found a new position coaching running backs at USC — where he coached the OL just before coming to Michigan. It was announced recently that Drevno would once again add pass protection and coaching the offensive line to his duties, midseason.

Well, it appears that it was Drevno’s responsibility to recruit Northern California, and in his crosshairs: athletic Michigan four-star commit Giles Jackson.

Since joining Michigan’s 2019 class in September, Jackson has been one of the Wolverines most active recruiters, constantly tweeting at top prospects, pitching that they should join the Wolverines and #GoonSquad19.

So, when the former Michigan coach reached out to Jackson to espouse the merits of coming down to Los Angeles, Jackson had a priceless response — which he shared on his Snapchat (which was captured by several on Twitter).

Currently, Michigan and USC seem to be heading in different directions. The Trojans just lost its yearly rivalry game to Wilton Speight and the UCLA Bruins, and are fighting for bowl eligibility, with the last chance coming on Saturday against No. 3 Notre Dame. No. 4 Michigan is currently favored to beat No. 10 Ohio State, which would keep the Wolverines hopes for a College Football Playoff berth alive.

Update:

This slam just went to a whole ‘nother level, with Jim Harbaugh having supposedly weighed in. Stay tuned for more fireworks, folks.
