2020 3-star TE Sam Daugstrup Discusses Michigan Visit, Relationship with Sherrone Moore

Cleveland (Ohio) St. Ignatius 2020 three-star tight end Sam Daugstrup does not have a Michigan offer, but he hopes one comes in the near future.

Most recently, Daugstrup took a visit to Michigan for its 31-20 victory over Indiana on Nov. 17. He was shocked when hearing the fans in the Big House.

“After finally experiencing it, I know what everyone was talking about,” Daugstrup explained. “Overall it was an awesome experience.”

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound tight end has offers from Pittsburgh, Toledo and Vanderbilt, but he hopes to have the Wolverines as an option.

“I could see myself at Michigan,” Daugstrup said. “I loved everything about it. One of my best friends is committed to play lacrosse (at Michigan), and he always tells me about the awesome campus and student life.”

One of Daugstrup’s most considerable recruiting relationships is with Michigan tight ends coach Sherrone Moore.

“We had a good conversation at the game,” Daugstrup said.

Daugstrup is ranked No. 665 in the nation, No. 19 at tight end and No. 15 in the state of Ohio, per the 247Sports Composite.

Michigan’s current tight end commit in the 2020 class is San Antonio (Tx.) Christian three-star Nick Patterson, the younger brother of starting quarterback Shea Patterson.

Patterson is ranked three spots lower than Daugstrup in the tight end rankings.
