4-star CB Miles Brooks Has Michigan 'Pretty High' on List, Says Father Loves Wolverines

Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian Academy 2020 four-star cornerback Miles Brooks’ father, Marcus Brooks, grew up in Detroit.

More importantly, he was a Michigan football fan.

On Nov. 17, Miles took his father for an unofficial visit to see Michigan take down Indiana, 31-20.

Brooks said Marcus, who went to University of Detroit Jesuit High School back in the day, loved every second of the trip.

“He loved it,” Brooks explained of his father’s time in Ann Arbor. “He went to a lot of games when he was young. He is the absolute biggest Michigan fan.”

The 6-foot-2, 171-pound cornerback has offers from Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Alabama, Arizona, Auburn, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, South Carolina and UCLA.

“Michigan is pretty high (on my list),” Brooks said. “I like it there because of the atmosphere and the academics side of it – that’s most important.”

On the visit, Brooks spent time with Michigan defensive coordinator Don Brown and tight ends coach Sherrone Moore.

The two coaches asked Brooks the same thing: Why would you want to go anywhere else?

“Michigan will develop me on-and-off the field,” Brooks explained of what he heard from Brown and Moore. “I have a chance at going to the NFL. Even if I didn’t, that foundation they set would make my life amazing either way.”

The four-star prospect plans to return to Michigan down the road, and he has no timetable for a commitment.

Brooks is ranked No. 164 in the country, No. 13 at cornerback and No. 27 in Florida, per the 247Sports Composite.
