What Indiana is Saying About This Week's Matchup

Michigan is finishing their homestead this week with the Indiana Hoosiers and it’s going to be a chippy game between the two schools. Indiana always puts up a fight and two years ago they played in the snow, and this year could be a repeat of the action.

Indiana head coach Tom Allen had some things to say about Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson before their matchup on Saturday.

“I think Shea Patterson is special, ” Allen said. “What he really, really creates that makes it so hard is the extending plays. He just runs around back there with his eyes downfield, and he’s extremely — he’s one of those unique guys that he could be moving to his left, his right, it really doesn’t matter.”

One coach on the Indiana coaching staff is a former Michigan Wolverine, someone nobody will forget and that’s running back Mike Hart, famous for the start of the “little brother” comments against Michigan State. It won’t be his first time that Hart has gone up against his alma mater, as he was at Eastern Michigan as a coach and played against Michigan in 2011, losing the game 31-3 and he didn’t think of anything special returning to Ann Arbor this Saturday.

“To me, it’s another game,” Hart said. “I think a lot of people think of it more it than what it is. I think in our profession there’s coaches, I think there’s a lot of coaches that coach a lot of places and play a lot of places. Obviously, I went there, it’s my alma mater. Obviously, I care about the place from that standpoint, I think everyone cares about their alma mater no question but on Saturday, I wanna win. On Saturday’s I care about Indiana football all year long, my son probably tells me more about Michigan than I know nowadays. Obviously, it’s a place that’s special in my heart without question. I would be lying if I didn’t say that, it’s my alma mater. I think that when you have a job, you have a job to do and your job’s to win and our job is to go in there and win.”

Michigan plays Indiana on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 4 p.m. EST in Ann Arbor.
