Oak Park 2020 3-star WR Maliq Carr Talks Michigan Offer, More

Michigan has recently made a push in the positive direction for Oak Park (Mich.) 2020 five-star offensive guard Justin Rogers.

On Nov. 11, Michigan tight ends coach Sherrone Moore extended an offer to Rogers teammate, 2020 three-star wide receiver Maliq Carr.

“Coach Moore just called me, and we talked,” Carr explained. “Then, he offered me. He’s a cool guy with a nice personality. He’s a good person.”

The 6-foot-6, 215-pound receiver has offers to play for Ohio State, Penn State, Alabama A&M, Boston College, Iowa, Iowa State, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Morgan State, Nebraska, Old Dominion, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Syracuse, Toledo and Western Michigan.

“It made me really happy that Michigan offered,” Carr said. “I’m interested because it’s close to home. They know how to win. That’s the most important of course.”

Speaking on Rogers’ interest in the Wolverines, Carr said he does not know what his five-star teammate thinks of coach Jim Harbaugh’s group.

Carr plans to visit Michigan in the near future, but he does not know exactly when the trip will occur.

“I’m looking forward to building a relationship,” he said.

Having the ability to possibly work alongside Tarik Black, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Nico Collins, Oliver Martin and others, Carr believes he would fit into Michigan’s offense because of the “big time receivers” already doing on-field damage for the Wolverines.

Carr is ranked No. 521 in the nation, No. 94 at wide receiver and No. 20 in Michigan, according to 247Sports Composite.
