4-star Kalel Mullings Feels Comfortable at Michigan, Sets Commitment Timetable

The vibe of the Big House on Nov. 3 for Michigan’s game against Penn State stuck out to Boston (Mass.) Milton Academy 2020 four-star linebacker Kalel Mullings.

The crowd was intense, and the recruits were ecstatic while watching the Wolverines’ 42-7 win over the Nittany Lions in Ann Arbor.

“I have been up there a few times, so I am very comfortable at Michigan,” Mullings said. “I know the staff well.”

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound outside linebacker and running back has offers from Boston College, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, Clemson, Duke, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, Rutgers, San Jose State, Syracuse, Tennessee, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

Mullings has yet to trim his list down, but he claims to be talking with nearly all schools that have offered him a scholarship.

“Michigan is a great school,” Mullings said. “I am trying to do everything I can to make sure the school I choose is the right fit. I am fortunate to be able to pick from some of the best in the world.”

Since Michigan defensive coordinator Don Brown is from Massachusetts, he has been the primary recruiter for Mullings.

“Coach Brown is one of the best in the business,” Mullings said. “We have a great relationship. When we talk, it’s never about recruiting – it’s about life, school and my health.”

The Top100 prospect plans to make his commitment in July 2019.

“August is the recruiting dead period before my senior season,” he said. “I want the process to be over before my senior year.”

Mullings is ranked No. 98 in the nation, No. 4 at linebacker and No. 1 in Massachusetts, according to 247Sports Composite.
