2020 DT Denver Warren Decommits from Michigan

After pledging to the Wolverines this summer, it looks like Aurora (IL) West four-star defensive end Denver Warren won’t be a part of Michigan’s 2020 class after all.

The prospect took to Twitter on Saturday to announce that due to how many defensive linemen that are on Michigan’s roster now and going forward, that he is decommitting from the program and reopening his recruitment.

Warren was rated as the 256th-best prospect in the country in 2020 according to the 247Sports Composite.

MSU was the prohibitive favorite before his commitment to the maize and blue, but Warren trashed the Spartans in a WolverinesWire exclusive, saying that he was not interested in them after having seen what Michigan has to offer.

“After I visited Michigan, I visited Michigan State, and it wasn’t even like a college visit. It wasn’t even exciting for me. My expectations are very high now that I went to Michigan and (got to know more about) all the great legends and everybody – like Tom Brady, Jabrill Peppers – everybody. It’s just amazing.”

Michigan now is back down to 5 commits in the 2020 class.
