4-star OT Danielson Ike Has Michigan in Top 2, Sets Time Frame for Official Visit

Danielson Ike received an offer from Michigan on May 16 and took an unofficial visit just over a month later.

Since the Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst 2019 four-star offensive tackle picked up interest from the Wolverines, he has grown close to offensive line coach Ed Warinner.

Most recently, Warinner made a trip to Rockhurst High School to see Ike’s 45-7 win over Lee’s Summit on Oct. 26.

“It felt really good seeing him,” Ike said. “He told me he liked my performance and enjoyed the game.”

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive lineman has offers to Alabama, Bowling Green, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Louisville, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Purdue, South Dakota State and Temple.

Of his offers, Ike said Michigan is a member of his top two. He is keeping the other program to himself.

“Everything the institution stands for makes it special to me, plus my interactions with Coach Warinner and Coach (Jim) Harbaugh,” Ike explained.

Just a few days following Warinner’s visit, Ike was on the phone with him to set up an official visit, which will likely take place during the first week of December.

“My season doesn’t end until Thanksgiving weekend,” Ike said. “We have not finalized (specific dates) yet.”

Ike said he is looking forward to checking out everything possible on his official visit to Michigan, including team chemistry, player and coach interaction and the business school.

Ike is ranked No. 300 in the 2019 class, No. 31 at offensive tackle and No. 6 in Missouri, according to 247Sports Composite.
