Chase Winovich Calls MSU "Little Brother" In Post-Game Interview

The words that made the rivalry more intense. “Little brother.” That phrase, originally said by former Michigan running back Mike Hart rang through the Michigan State players and coaches and since then, it has been what turned this series around.

For years, Michigan has dominated this rivalry and they still are winning the all-time record in the series as it is 37-30-2 in Michigan’s favor. The past 11 years since that quote was said though, Michigan State is 8-3, coming off their 21-7 loss today against Michigan, but the reminder of being called little brother still sticks with the current Michigan football players.

Michigan starting defensive end Chase Winovich had some words to say about the game during his post-game interview with the FOX Sports.

“We came in here, I openly in public called it a revenge tour, called them out said they’re next,” Winovich said. “We came in here, slashed their field before the game and we still came out here and just got after them every single play. We knew that they couldn’t hang with us and we did what we had to do, sometimes your little brother starts acting up, and you just gotta put them in place. They tried, they gave it their best it just wasn’t enough. Our guys came out on top. We’re just going to continue to work and try and get better and build from here.”

If that doesn’t upset the Spartans players, coaches and fan base, losing 21-7 today was and the game, while score wise was close, was dominated by Michigan from beginning to end as they held the Spartans to 94 total yards of offense and got the big victory to bring back the Paul Bunyan Trophy and now heading into the bye, Michigan can relax and enjoy this huge victory.
