'It's Win or Go Home From Here on Out;' Josh Uche on Michigan's Remainder of the Season

Tonight was the start of the second half of the season for the Michigan Wolverines and it was a tested battle for the first half against the Wisconsin Badgers, but once the second half started it was the beginning of the end for the state of Wisconsin.

Coming into tonight, players knew that these games are even more important than they were before. Sure every game is important, but when the season is coming to an end, the intensity and impact grow and the pressure can build up for some teams and players.

Defensive end Josh Uche had some words on how this team came prepared tonight against Wisconsin.

“They were coming into our house,” Uche said. “They were trying to take something away from us and we weren’t going to let that happen. Every game is a statement victory, it’s win or go home from here on out, until the end of the season, until the championship game so we gotta win every game, every game is a big game.”

The crowd in the Big House was rocking all night but came even more alive in the second half, even stealing Wisconsin’s “jump around” gig as they were making the place as loud as possible.

“The crowd needs to be loud,” Uche said. “We feed off of that. Whenever we hear that the crowd is roaring, we can’t even hear ourselves talk, that just gets us going, gets the adrenaline going. That’s how big plays happen.”

Michigan players don’t seem to care what you have done this season, no matter your rankings, trophies, standings, nothing. This team is hungry and they don’t care who they have to play next.

“We don’t care who we play,” Uche said. “It really doesn’t matter. We don’t care. You playing us, you gotta go through us that’s how we look at it. It don’t matter what your accomplishments are, whatever, you gotta play us and we’re going to see how good you are when you play us.”

Uche and the Wolverines will get another test next week as they travel to East Lansing to take on Michigan State.
