2023 QB Dante Moore Previews Michigan Visit, Updates High School/College Recruitment

Class of 2023 quarterback Dante Moore has controlled an offer from Michigan since June 18, 2018.

He now has a list of four top schools – not college programs but high schools.

Moore is down to Detroit (Mich.) Martin Luther King, Detroit (Mich.) Cass Technical, West Bloomfield (Mich.) and Dearborn (Mich.) Fordson.

“Dearborn Fordson just checked me out two weeks ago,” Moore explained.

The 6-foot-2, 160-pound quarterback planned to visit Michigan for its annual BBQ at the Big House on July 29 but was unable to attend. Now, he has locked in an unofficial visit to see the Wolverines play Wisconsin on Oct. 13.

Moore is looking forward to meeting the coaching staff again and catching up with the players he knows. A few of which include Chris Evans, Karan Higdon and Donovan Peoples-Jones.

“I just can’t wait to get back to the campus of Michigan and enjoy a great time with the players and coaching staff,” Moore said.

Since he is just an eighth-grader at A.G.B.U Alex & Marie Manoogian School, Michigan does not recruit Moore much, but he understands why the Wolverines are laying off right now.

He was offered in seventh-grade on June 18, 2018.

“For my age, it brings a lot of savage into me,” Moore said of being offered at such a young age. “People may say I don’t deserve that offer, but it just makes me want to keep competing.”

Along with talking to coaches and players on his visit this weekend, Moore is excited to focus on Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson.

“I’m looking for his regular talents – throwing the ball very well, completing most of his passes and taking over a good game,” Moore said.

Since Moore has to make a high school decision in the near future, he has been in close contact with former Cass Tech quarterback Rodney Hall.

Hall, as a three-star prospect in the 2017 class, is a freshman quarterback at Northern Illinois University.

“He was my inspiration when he was at Cass Tech,” Moore said of Hall. “He told me to find the right school that fits my skill and formula. Most importantly, he said to pick a school that has a great education.”
