ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Karan Higdon has carried the load for the tailbacks the past several weeks, with fellow ‘co-starter’ Chris Evans being held out with an injury.
Well, no longer will that be the case with No. 15 Wisconsin coming to town.
According to his position coach, Jay Harbaugh, barring some kind of setback, Evans will be on the field on Saturday night as the Wolverines host the Badgers.
“He’s ready to play,” Harbaugh said. “We’re expecting him to, and we’ll see what happens Saturday.”
Evans practiced minimally the past few weeks, but did initially dress for this past Saturday’s matchup vs. Maryland. However, as the game started, Evans came out of the locker room in street clothes.
Through Week Six, his compatriot in Higdon is rated as the nation’s 13th-best tailback by yards-per-game, and that’s even with missing the second-halves of two games.
Evans has appeared in four games and has 172 yards and 2 touchdowns on 30 carries.
