'I Can See Myself Fitting There': 3-star OT Zak Zinter Breaks Down Michigan Offer

On Sept. 26, Michigan jumped in the mix for rising 2020 prospect Zak Zinter.

From North Andover (Mass.) Buckingham Browne & Nichols, the offensive tackle now has offers from Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, Duke, Boston College, Purdue, UMass and Dartmouth.

“All of my offers are special,” Zinter said. “I feel really honored and humbled by all these opportunities.”

Zinter was most recently in Ann Arbor for the BBQ at the Big House on July 29. He also attended the Big Man Big House camp in June. Now, he has an offer from the Wolverines.

Throughout his recruitment process to Michigan, Zinter said he has grown closest with offensive line coach Ed Warinner.

“We started to build our relationship at the Michigan/UMass camp,” Zinter explained. “He is an exceptional coach, and I feel very blessed to have been offered by him.”

Since making two trips to Michigan over the course of about two months, the 2020 recruit said he feels like he could call Ann Arbor home someday.

“I can see myself fitting in there,” he said.

Milton (Mass.) Academy four-star linebacker Kalel Mullings and Cambridge (Mass.) Buckingham Browne & Nichols 2020 linebacker Tyler Martin and Northborough (Mass.) IMG Academy 2021 offensive tackle Greg Crippen are all close with Zinter.

It’s only fitting that all three are also being recruited by the Wolverines.

“They all have had similar experiences on their visits and enjoyed their time at Michigan,” Zinter said.

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound three-star offensive lineman explained he is looking for a school with very high academics and big-time football.

In his eyes, Michigan hits the mark in both categories.
