Harbaugh Reacts to Odd Penalty Situation

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — There weren’t any crazy penalties in Michigan’s matchup against Maryland in the way that the ghost hold was called against Karan Higdon when he was tackled at Northwestern. But there was one call that was somewhat questionable — not the call itself, but how it moved Michigan backwards, seemingly.

The Wolverines had pretty much shored things up against Maryland — actually, the Terrapins had 12 penalties for 107 yards and saw two players ejected for targeting in the game. The Wolverines defense actually drew a holding call. As far as officiating went, there was little to complain about for the maize and blue, who still did have 6 penalties for 52 yards.

But the one call where Michigan and Maryland had offsetting penalties, with the Terrapins having been called for targeting, yet Michigan moved backwards was a head-scratcher.

Even Jim Harbaugh thought so after the game, and he responded in hilarious fashion.
