Harbaugh Updates Several Players' Injury Status Post-Maryland

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The injuries are piling up for the Wolverines now that the first six games are in the books.

Against Maryland, the Wolverines were without star defensive end Rashan Gary, running back Chris Evans and former five-star Aubrey Solomon. However, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh says that the three are much closer to being back — with Gary being potentially a healthy scratch.

But more names were added to the list on Saturday, with defensive tackles Michael Dwumfour and Carlo Kemp both leaving the Wolverines’ 42-21 romp over the Terrapins.

Harbaugh updated the injury status of all of the above, saying that, mostly, the team is in wait-and-see mode.

“Michael, we’ll see — still evaluating what he has,” Harbaugh said. “Carlo, same. Still evaluating.

“Rashan, I thought he needed — I decided not to play him this week. He’s most likely — we’ll see where he’s at as the week goes on. It’s not a long term thing.

“Aubrey? We’ll see. He had a good week last week and see how close he is this week.”

Harbaugh continued, saying that Evans was close, and even practiced, but that he chose — along with Rashan Gary — to hold him out.

“Yeah, Chris practiced two days this week, and ultimately thought it best not to suit him up and play him today. Hopefully we get some guys back next week.” decided not to play him.

“Rashan — he’s had an AC (joint injury), a little bit of an AC that he’s been playing through. But, thought it wise to not play him this week.”

While Harbaugh says the team doesn’t know on those aforementioned players, Michigan linebacker Devin Bush Jr. says he thinks he has an answer on Dwumfour, after having talked to him following the game.

“He’s doing good,” Bush said. “He just stepped on somebody’s foot. I think he just rolled up his ankle. I think he’s going to be alright.”
