Harbaugh Updates Status of Two Players Who Have Not Yet Appeared in 2018

On the Big Ten Teleconference, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh updated the status of two Wolverines who have been in street clothes all season.

Second-year cornerback Benjamin St-Juste was a special teams mainstay a year ago, but hasn’t dressed yet this season.

Per Harbaugh, he has a nagging injury and will be out for the season.

Likewise, hopes have been big for defensive end Luiji Vilain, who came to Michigan being ranked just shy of five-star status by 247Sports. He missed the entirety of the 2017 season with a knee injury.

Harbaugh says he had successful surgery this week (sources tell WolverinesWire that it was on his other knee), which is why we haven’t seen Vilain this season.

Sources tell WolverinesWire that Vilain is also not expected to suit up this season. He did receive his medical redshirt last year, and will reportedly use this season as another redshirt year, and have four years of eligibility following this one, should that hold true.
