Updates: Michigan Jim Harbaugh Nebraska Postgame Presser

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan thoroughly dominated Nebraska, 56-10, to open Big Ten play, and honestly, it wasn’t even that close.

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh spoke about the rout after the game, and WolverinesWire’s Isaiah Hole was live at Crisler Center.

Follow along with our live-blog below:

  • Harbaugh says the OL “really protected the ball well. Protected the passer extremely well.” Said “outside, the C and D gaps” were among the best for the OL.
  • “They’re improving from spring ball through training camp.” Harbaugh says it’s maybe the OL’s best game.
  • “I thought our team played very physical in all phases.”
  • Harbaugh says it’s obvious that the team is working hard. “They’re an improving, ascending team, and it’s paying off.”
  • On Shea and Dylan: “I thought there were good, on top of everything they were doing. Really in control. Both had really good presence in the pocket….Dylan continues to improve every time he gets in.”
  • On Metellus and Aidan Hutchinson: “I thought he was getting around the field well (Metellus)….our defensive line, really, the pass rush was really good today.”
  • “More disciplined football on both sides this week.”
  • Harbaugh says they kept Chris Evans out. “Didn’t have a setback, just didn’t feel like he was ready to go. Karan, he was ready to go. Karan was ready to play.”
  • Harbaugh said it was just a matter of time for Christian Turner to make his name known. Would have liked Hassan Haskins get into the game.
  • On Ben Mason playing more: “Inertia, was the main factor of the decision…he’s got a talent and ability. Like having Ben Mason in the game.”
  • “You don’t need motivational talks” with this team, Harbaugh says. “They’re enjoying it.”
  • Harbaugh says that Rashan Gary was held out as a precaution.
  • Harbaugh says they played 78 guys today. “Not only good for the morale of the team, but the progress of the team.”
  • Harbaugh says he doesn’t remember that Scott Frost said that UCF outhit Michigan in 2016.
  • Harbaugh says that he did think it was an accurate targeting call against Hudson.
