Daxton Hill Commits to Michigan

That was quick.

On Tuesday evening, five-star safety Daxton Hill, rated by the 247Sports Composite as the 8th-best player regardless of position and the top-ranked safety in the class, announced His college choice.

After much speculation that Alabama was in the driver’s seat, Hill committed to Michigan, just days after his official visit to Ann Arbor.

Choosing between six schools — Alabama, Clemson, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Ohio State — the Wolverines faced fierce competition for the top-rated player in the state of Oklahoma, who visited campus unofficially on March 17.

As we reported earlier, sources had something of a ‘tepid optimism’ regarding Hill, especially since there was something of a Michigan vibe when he was in Dallas for The Opening. It turns out, that vibe was correct, as Hill announced on Twitter that he has officially chosen to become a Wolverine.

Hill is Michigan’s 23rd commitment of the 2019 class, and helps bolster the Wolverines standing in the 247Sports Composite, as he is the highest rated player in the class.

Hill was aggressively recruited by Michigan tight ends coach Sherrone Moore, who joined the staff this offseason from Central Michigan. It’s Moore’s first major (five-star level) victory, since joining the Wolverines.
