Harbaugh Updates Higdon, Evans' Injury Status

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Player injuries are piling up for Michigan a little bit, with Aubrey Solomon still out, having had surgery, and with Karan Higdon missing all of Week Three against SMU and Chris Evans leaving the game with an undisclosed injury.

At his weekly press conference, head coach Jim Harbaugh updated where the two running backs are injury-wise as of Monday.

“Chris is working through something new, now — Karan had been working through something,” Harbaugh said. “No real status to give. When they come in today, we’ll see where they’re at. Day-by-day.”

While defensive tackle Lawrence Marshall did return (though didn’t play) on Saturday, Solomon still was out, undressed. “He’s still day-to-day, with Aubrey and his rehab,” Harbaugh said.

But there was less of a wait-and-see with Buck West, who was injured on a special teams play.

Harbaugh says that the Pinckney (MI) athlete will be out for the season after tearing his ACL in the game against SMU.

“Jacob West is going to need a surgery,” Harbaugh said. “He did tear his ACL. Which is very unfortunate. Someone who had really come on this season. He was contributing, just ascending each day and week. He’s going to need a surgery. Projected it will be a successful surgery and he’ll be back to play, hopefully by spring ball.”
