'I'm Going to be a Fit for Michigan': Uncommitted 4-star OT Danielson Ike Talks Wolverines

Offensive line coach Ed Warinner desperately wants Danielson Ike to join the Michigan football program, going as far as saying Ike is a perfect fit for Wolverines.

The good news, at least for Warinner, is that the Kanas City (Mo.) Rockhurst 2019 four-star offensive tackle agrees.

“I’m going to be a fit for Michigan,” Ike said. “I know because of the discussions I’ve had with Coach (Jim) Harbaugh and Coach Warinner.

“(Warinner) always tells me how the Michigan football program is on the rise.”

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive lineman has offers to play for Alabama, Bowling Green, Iowa State, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Purdue, South Dakota State and Temple.

“I’m definitely taking an official visit to Michigan, so that’s where they are on my list,” Ike said. “I don’t have a date yet for the official.”

Ike said he has a “great relationship” with Warinner and talks to Harbaugh “every once in a while” to stay in touch. The duo thinks Ike would be able to come in and play right away.

“They see me coming in and playing the position of a left tackle,” Ike said.

He has recently taken unofficial visits to Louisville (June 7), Nebraska (June 14), Michigan (July 23) and Alabama (July 28). The Crimson Tide extended an offer on May 2.

“Michigan just became one of my favorite schools,” Ike said after his July 23 visit to Ann Arbor. “Michigan is special because of the quality of education and the winning mentality of football.”

Ike is ranked No. 287 in the nation, No. 28 at offensive tackle and No. 6 in Missouri, according to 247Sports Composite.
