Two Wide Receivers Making a Big Impact for Michigan in Fall Camp

This isn’t going to be incredibly shocking information — I don’t think — depending on how much you’ve been paying attention to the things said coming out of fall camp.

On his bonus Attack Each Day podcast, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh said that Grant Perry has really been impressive — noting he may be the team’s top receiver.

According to one source I spoke to this week close to the Michigan side of things, the hype on Perry is real. Although — it’s kind of weird to call it hype, as Perry has been quite dependable since arriving in Ann Arbor, and led the team in receiving yards in 2017. However, with the cadre of receivers around him, I’ve been told that Perry has been the best of the bunch.

The other receiver mentioned?

The name wasn’t DPJ or Tarik Black, but another player in that 2017 class: Nico Collins.

I’ve been told that, along with Perry, Collins has had maybe the best camp from the wide receiver position. Will that parlay into a starting spot on the outside? Given the reports that Michigan is set to be more in shotgun, running more RPO-type looks, it shouldn’t matter, as Collins should feature heavily in the rotation, regardless.

Again, nothing earth-breaking or world-shattering. But worth passing along, regardless.
