4-star DT Rodas Johnson Explains Decision to Put Michigan in Top 6

Columbus (Ohio) St. Francis De Sales 2019 four-star defensive tackle Rodas Johnson has released his top 6.

The list includes Texas, Duke, Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan and Oklahoma.

“Michigan is known for defense and it’s a great school as far as academics,” Johnson said.

The 6-foot-3, 285-pound defensive lineman has offers to play for Wisconsin, Duke, Michigan, Oklahoma, Penn State, Texas, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Toledo, Vanderbilt and West Virginia.

Johnson officially visited Wisconsin on June 15. He plans to use all five official visits before signing with a program.

He is ranked No. 298 in the nation, No. 19 at defensive tackle and No. 7 in Ohio, according to 247Sports Composite.

Michigan has a 2019 commit from St. Francis De Sales in three-star safety Joey Velazquez. The 6-foot-0, 205 pounder is actively recruiting Johnson. Meanwhile, Oklahoma has freshman linebacker Brian Asamoah, who hails from St. Francis De Sales.
