Twitter Reacts: Ohio State's Urban Meyer Under Investigation

Due to pictures and text messages released by Brett McMurphy, Ohio State has conducted an investigation into a report that head coach Urban Meyer knew about the domestic abuse allegations against former wide receivers coach Zach Smith in 2015.

Meyer was placed on paid administrative leave on Wednesday.

“Gene (Smith) and I agree that being on leave during this inquiry will facilitate its completion,” Meyer said in a statement. “This allows the team to conduct training camp with minimal distraction. I eagerly look forward to the resolution of this matter.”

Practice in Columbus starts on Friday, and offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Ryan Day will serve as the acting head coach in preparation for the 2018 season.
