In-state WR Devell Washington Talks With Coaches, Other Recruits on Michigan Visit

Bay City (Mich.) Central 2020 three-star wide receiver Devell Washington spent time with coach Jim Harbaugh, defensive coordinator Don Brown, tight ends coach Sherrone Moore and assistant wide receivers coach Roy Roundtree during his time at Michigan’s BBQ at the Big House on July 27.

“We went through some drills with the quarterbacks,” Washington said. “I got to suit up in full Michigan gear and take some pictures. Then, I went into the Big House, which is always sweet. I caught up with the kids from other schools and wished them luck for the upcoming season.”

The other recruits Washington spent time with included Rockwood (Mich.) Oscar A. Carlson 2020 three-star wide receiver Ian Stewart, along with three Belleville (Mich.) athletes – 2020 three-star cornerback Andre Seldon, 2020 three-star wide receiver Jalen Williams and 2021 wide receiver Deion Burks.

Seldon committed to Michigan on June 20, 2018. He is ranked No. 332 in the 2020 class, according to 247Sports Composite.

“It was great,” Washington said of his time with Stewart, Seldon, Williams and Burks. “The atmosphere was super fun and energetic.”

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound receiver has offers to play for Michigan, Ohio State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Toledo and Western Michigan.

“It didn’t change anything,” Washington said of the barbecue. “Michigan’s been solid for me since the beginning.”

The day before visiting Michigan on July 28, Washington had a “great time” at Ohio State.

“I spent a lot of time with the coaches and I got a tour of campus, which was pretty cool,” Washington said of the Buckeyes.

Washington is ranked No. 399 in the nation, No. 77 at wide receiver and No. 13 in Michigan, according to 247Sports.
