Ricks has upcoming visits to Ohio State, Michigan and Notre Dame.

After visiting Ohio State during the morning of July 28, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei 2020 five-star cornerback Elias Ricks will head to Michigan, finishing his day attending the BBQ at the Big House.

“I’m going to show up late,” Ricks mentioned of his arrival to Michigan’s BBQ. “I’m not sure what time exactly.”

The first thing he wants to do is start building a relationship with Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and cornerbacks coach Michael Zordich.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the school and coaches,” Ricks said. “I like their tradition, but I don’t know too much about Michigan.”

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound cornerback has offers to play for Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Boise State, California, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Oregon State, San Jose State, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA, USC, Utah and Washington.

Ricks believes an offer from the Buckeyes will come soon, specifically on his visit to Columbus.

Being a five-star prospect with a variety of college options, observing the way of the Wolverines will be a key component in his consideration of Harbaugh’s program.

“Whatever they have to offer, I want to know,” Ricks said. “I just want to see how they do things out there (in Ann Arbor) because I don’t know much.”

Despite not having a strong understanding of Michigan at the moment, Ricks does know Harbaugh is a “very energetic” coach with both NFL and college success as a player and coach.

Ricks will be at the BBQ with his parents. Following his time at Michigan, the cornerback prospect will head to Notre Dame for a visit on July 29.

He will make a commitment in July 2019 and enroll early at the school of his choice.

The Mater Dei star is ranked No. 18 in the nation, No. 2 at his position and No. 5 in California, according to 247Sports Composite. Ricks played on Team Dynamite at The Opening Finals.
