Brevard is one of many planning to visit Michigan on July 28.

Michigan extended a scholarship offer to Carmel (Ind.) 2020 four-star defensive tackle Cole Brevard on March 20.

For the first time, he will be in Ann Arbor. Brevard is taking a visit to Michigan on July 28 for the BBQ at the Big House.

“Since it’s the first time I’ll be to Ann Arbor, I’m interested in seeing the campus and facilities,” he said.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pound lineman has offers to play for Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Purdue and Tennessee.

“I’m interested in several programs. However, at this time, I’m making a conscious effort to learn about several programs and Michigan is on the list.”

Here is a breakdown on a handful of programs Brevard is focusing his time and energy on throughout the recruitment process.

Wisconsin: “I like that they play an aggressive defense.”

Notre Dame: “They play good football and they offer a strong 4-for-40 alumni base.”

Penn State: “It’s a good football program. I connected with Coach (James) Franklin and Coach (Sean) Spencer. They also have a strong alumni base.”

Ohio State: “I just love the opportunity to play for (defensive line coach) Larry Johnson.”

Indiana: “They have been making strong moves lately and will have a great program soon. Plus, Coach (Mark) Hegan, the defensive line coach, played for Carmel.”

As for the Wolverines, Brevard said he is unable to give them an accurate evaluation because he has not heard from the coaches or been on a visit. Accompanying him on the BBQ visit is his mother and older brother.

“I haven’t visited Michigan or met with the coaching staff yet, so I’m still waiting to learn more about the program,” he said.

Brevard is ranked No. 102 in the nation, No. 7 at defensive tackle and No. 1 in Indiana, according to 247Sports Composite.
