The Wolverines own the watch list.

Three players from Alabama, Clemson, Michigan and USC were listed to the Bednarik Award watch list. For the Wolverines, it was junior linebacker Devin Bush, junior defensive end Rashan Gary and fifth-year senior defensive end Chase Winovich.

In the 2017 campaign, Gary logged 66 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss and six sacks. Winovich had 79 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss and five sacks.

Bush accumulated 102 tackles last year, which led the Wolverines. He also added 9.5 tackles for a loss and five sacks.

In the last two seasons, Alabama has owned back-to-back Bednarik Award winners in Jonathan Allen (2016) and Minkah Fitzpatrick (2017). All three 2017 finalists are now in the NFL.
