A plethora of Massachusetts recruits will be at Michigan on July 28.

During a camp at the University of Massachusetts on June 9, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh’s staff watched Milton (Mass.) Academy 2021 offensive and defensive lineman Greg Crippen and were impressed.

He was invited to Ann Arbor on June 24. Crippen accepted.

“I went for a visit to Michigan on June 24 where I met Coach (Ed) Warinner and Coach (Ron) Prince,” Crippen said. “After seeing the campus, I met with Coach Harbaugh and he offered me.

“It was the most exciting feeling I have ever had. I’ve always been a huge Michigan fan.”

Right now, as a rising 2021 prospect, Crippen’s only offer is from the Wolverines. At one point, the same was true for Boston (Mass.) Milton Academy 2020 four-star linebacker and running back Kalel Mullings, a teammate of Crippen.

Now, Mullings has 18 offers.

Crippen, along with Michigan, has been hearing from Duke, Wake Forest, Notre Dame, Penn State, Boston College, UMass and Purdue.

“I am extremely interested in Michigan,” Crippen said. “They will always be on top of the list. The coaching staff, the history, the education I would receive are some of my main reasons why. I just want to compete at the highest level.”

The 6-foot-4, 265 pounder on the offensive and defensive line will be back in Ann Arbor for Michigan’s BBQ at the Big House on July 28. Mullings will also be in attendance.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the coaches and seeing the campus again.”

Besides Crippen and Mullings, other Massachusetts prospects expected to be at the BBQ are Cambridge (Mass.) Buckingham Browne & Nichols 2020 3-star OT Zak Zinter and Cambridge (Mass.) Buckingham Browne & Nichols 2022 LB Tyler Martin.

In the 2017 season for Milton Academy, the Mustangs finished with a 5-3 record. Crippen’s team has not won a league championship since 2013.

“I feel that my strengths are my toughness and commitment to my team and coaches,” he said. “For weaknesses, I can always get better at everything in football.”
