The BBQ at the Big House on July 28 is already loaded with top prospects.

The last time Belleville (Mich.) 2020 three-star cornerback Andre Seldon was in Ann Arbor, he wasn’t committed.

He was just a kid at a camp on June 18. Then, his world flipped upside down when coach Jim Harbaugh extended a scholarship offer.

Two days later, Seldon committed to join the Wolverines.

“Michigan has always been my dream school,” Seldon said. “I grew up watching them, my role models growing up went there, their whole staff shows love like no other and that’s undeniable.

“It just feels like home.”

For the first time since June 18, Seldon will make the drive from Belleville to Ann Arbor for Michigan’s BBQ at the Big House on July 28. It will be his first visit as a committed prospect.

“I’m looking forward to letting my family meet with the coaching staff and vibe with them,” Seldon, who is bringing his mother, father and grandmother, said.

Seldon has been in touch with Fairburn (Ga.) IMG Academy 2019 three-star linebacker Charles Thomas, who has been committed to Michigan since June 24, 2017.

Thomas has been one of the most influential recruiters in Michigan’s 2019 class, especially with the state of Georgia. Seldon wants to have the same impact on the 2020 class with players from Michigan.

“The only person I spoke to about it so far was Charles Thomas,” Seldon said. “I know he will be there. I’ll be in contact more so we can get some stuff cooking.”

Per request from coach Jim Harbaugh, Seldon is putting on the recruiter cap.

“Harbaugh told me he wants me to be his main recruiter,” he said. “You know I’m on it if the big man tells me.”

Right now, the 5-foot-9, 160-pound cornerback is working on a plethora of players, all close in proximity to his hometown of Belleville in West Bloomfield, Mich.

The West Bloomfield group consists of 2020 four-star safety Makari Paige, 2020 three-star inside linebacker Cornell Wheeler, 2019 three-star wide receiver Tre Mosley and 2019 four-star outside linebacker Lance Dixon.

Seldon is close with Michigan defensive backs Lavert Hill and Jaylen Kelly-Powell. He also knows Michigan alumni Terry Richardson and Jourdan Lewis. All four athletes are role models in Seldon’s life.

Even though he has older friends from Michigan, Seldon aims to make friends in the 2021, 2020 and 2019 classes in order to set himself up for having the best college experience.

“This is all about forming that teammate bond,” Seldon said. “When I say cooking, I mean making group chats and things so we can all get connected.

“Overall, I’m just excited about getting to meet my future teammates.”

Seldon is ranked No. 452 in the nation, No. 32 at his position and No. 14 in Michigan, according to 247Sports Composite.

Michigan has 2020 commits from West Aurora (Ill.) four-star defensive tackle Denver Warren, Columbus (Ohio) Northland three-star wide receiver Kalil Branham and Seldon.
