One of Michigan football’s top 2019 targets, Tulsa (OK) Booker T. Washington five-star S Daxton Hill, tweets that he’ll be committing soon.
Michigan Football Recruiting: Quick Daxton Hill Note
The wait to see where Dax Hill lands will be coming to a close soon.
The five-star prospect announced on Twitter on Wednesday evening that he will be picking from one of his six finalists — Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Michigan and Ohio State — soon.
But what does that mean for Michigan?
After speaking with a source close to Michigan tonight, there is tepid optimism as far as landing Hill, who has been a huge priority for the Wolverines throughout this recruiting cycle. That’s not to say that the staff thinks Michigan is indeed the choice — that, nobody knows. But from the sounds of it, the maize and blue have put themselves in a good spot.
That source indicated that there was somewhat of a Michigan feeling surrounding Hill at The Opening. However — again — Hill has kept things pretty close to the vest, so everyone will remain in wait-and-see mode until he actually verbalizes his decision.
As of current, the 247Sports Crystal Ball yields zero predictions for Michigan, as Oklahoma is prognosticators’ current favorite with 80% of the vote.
Hill unofficially visited Michigan back on March 17, and has since made an unofficial visit to Clemson in April and two visits to Alabama — unofficial and official — in April and June, respectively.
He is expected to make his official visit to Michigan in September.
