The second wave continues.

One week after Michigan picked up eight commits in six days, the Wolverines started to fuel the fire again, adding Memphis (TN) Lausanne Collegiate 2019 four-star running back Eric Gray.

Then, Blairstown (NJ) Blair Academy 2019 four-star strong side defensive end David Ojabo made his commitment a day after Gray, continuing the second wave of recruits to pledge to Michigan.

“Michigan felt like home,” Ojabo said. “The overall vibe, combined with the education, seemed unmatched to me.”

The 6-foot-5, 233 pounder said the vibe consisted of the players, coaches and city. Ojabo knew he would commit to Michigan after linebackers coach Greg Mattison showed him around the university on June 18.

“Ann Arbor just felt like my kind of environment,” Ojabo said. “I knew the moment Coach Mattison took me on a tour around the campus. It’s an ideal college town.”

Ojabo was primarily recruited by Michigan linebackers coach Chris Partridge. He picked the Wolverines over Texas A&M, Penn State, Ohio State, Notre Dame and 30 others.

After adding Gray and Ojabo to the 2019 class, Michigan is expected to add another commit on Monday and one on Tuesday.

Ojabo is ranked No. 488 in the nation, No. 32 at his position and No. 10 in New Jersey, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Now that he is committed to the Wolverines, Ojabo said he will not take other visits or explore other options. He is “locked in” to the Maize and Blue.
