Former Michigan basketball star Glenn Robinson III is returning to metro Detroit, signing with the NBA’s Pistons.
Glenn Robinson III Signs With Detroit Pistons
From one former home to another.
A native of Indiana, it had to be an amazing experience for former Wolverines F Glenn Robinson III to play in his home state for several years, as he did with the Indiana Pacers. But, after cutting his teeth in Ann Arbor, Michigan fans who also follow the home-state team will once again get to root on the athletic forward.
According to ESPN’s Marc Spears, GRIII is joining the Detroit Pistons as a free agent, signing a two-year deal worth approximately $8M.
Robinson will be another fresh face for the franchise, one that will be breaking in new head coach Dwane Casey, who came aboard from the Toronto Raptors.
While he hasn’t been the starter Wolverines fans came to know and love at the NBA level, Robinson has provided valuable minutes — especially since joining the Pacers in 2015. Over the course of his career, he’s averaged 14.7 minutes, 4.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in the NBA.
