Michigan Football Recruiting: Quick Zach Harrison Update (6/27)

Michigan football hosted the nation’s top-rated 2019 recruit, five-star Lewis Center (OH) Olentangy Orange DE Zach Harrison this past weekend.

Michigan Football Recruiting: Quick Zach Harrison Update

The best prospect in the 2019 class was in Ann Arbor on Friday, but also had his official visit to Ohio State immediately after.

Harrison was at Michigan on Friday, but made his way back home soon after, as he visited the Buckeyes on Sunday.

As Jeremy Birmingham at Ohio State site Lettermen Row said about Harrison, he remains pretty tight-lipped about his recruitment:

First of all, know this about 5-star defensive end Zach Harrison: He’s as good a college football prospect as you’ll ever see, but he’s also as private as any player in recent memory. There will not be much public commenting from Harrison about his visits to Michigan and Ohio State over the last five days — if he makes any at all.

We at WolverinesWire reported on Saturday that sources close to the Michigan side of things felt that things went about as well as they could for Harrison on his official visit.

After speaking to multiple sources, the feeling after the slew of visits for the five-star is that Ohio State is still the team to beat, but Michigan definitely impressed and made a move.

In talking to those in the know, our feeling is that, at this juncture, Michigan is no worse than second in his recruitment.

The unfortunate thing is that time is running short. Harrison has made multiple visits to Ann Arbor, but he’s to make a decision sometime in August.

Al Washington and Greg Mattison are leading the charge for Michigan in his recruitment, while Kevin Wilson and Larry Johnson are on the hunt for the Buckeyes.
