DJ Turner Commits to Michigan

Michigan football gets a good one from down south in 2019 Suwanee (GA) North Gwinnett three-star cornerback DJ Turner.

The longtime Wolverines target finally pledges to the maize and blue.

Though it seemed like there was no question as to whether DJ Turner would eventually be a Wolverine, the fact that it took so long for him to commit seemed like it might never happen.

But then, on Monday, it finally did.

Turner had held for days that he planned to commit to his school of choice on Monday. With offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson, Oklahoma, Georgia, LSU — and many, many others, in his reported 32 offers — he could go anywhere. But a last minute trip to Ann Arbor, for the Wolverines big summer recruiting weekend was apparently just what he needed to see, as he announced on Twitter that he would go Blue.

Turner might not be the highest rated player in the bunch — coming in as the 439th-best player in the country in the 247Sports Composite, the 41st best cornerback and 47th-rated player out of the state of Georgia — however, he was as highly sought after as a high four-star/five-star, and his film reflects his style of play.

As said, Turner was long expected to become a Wolverine, and it was reflected with 100% of the 247Sports Crystal Balls coming in Michigan’s favor, with 15 predictions.

Turner is Michigan’s fourth commitment in the past two days, and 15th in the 2019 class, with Fairfield (OH) TE Erick All, Thousand Oaks (CA) Oaks Christian RB Zach Charbonnet and Grand Rapids (MI) East Kentwood DT Mazi Smith all committing on Sunday.
