Report: Michigan Hockey Out For Elite Recruit

Don’t count on seeing the brother of a Wolverines hockey star wearing a winged helmet, per a report.

Report: Michigan Hockey Out For Elite Recruit

Michigan hockey fans dreamed of seeing the Hughes brothers playing side-by-side at Yost Ice Arena.

But it sounds like that’s not going to happen.

Per Inside The Huddle radio host Michael Spath, who reported the news on Twitter on Wednesday, Jack Hughes — the highly-coveted younger brother of Michigan freshman defenseman Quinn Hughes — won’t end up wearing the maize and blue.

Hughes is eligible for the 2019 NHL Draft, but Michigan fans were hoping that the Orlando (FL) native would at least choose a year (or more) in Ann Arbor before heading to the pros.

It’s not yet revealed whether he will choose another school or forgo the college level entirely.
