Despite having a gauntlet of a schedule in 2018, oddsmakers in Las Vegas like the Wolverines chances.

Michigan has one of the hardest schedules in all of college football this upcoming season. But, with returning experience and influx of talent — led by former five-star transfer quarterback Shea Patterson — the odds are literally in the Wolverines favor.

The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook officially set their opening odds on Tuesday, and Michigan currently comes in fourth, behind incumbent champion Alabama, perennial powerhouse Clemson and arch-rival Ohio State.

In a graphic shared by professional sports bettor Johnny Detroit on Twitter, Michigan is currently looking at 3/1 odds that they can take home the hardware in January.

A year ago, VegasInsider opened with the Wolverines facing 14/1 odds, while Bovada was less bullish, having Michigan at 16/1, despite having lost so many players to the NFL Draft last April.

And Michigan was in every game save for one — the only blowout loss in the maize and blue’s 8-5 season coming on the road at Penn State.
