2020 Columbus (OH) Northland three-star WR Kalil Branham pledges to the Wolverines.
Michigan Dips Into Columbus For First 2020 Commitment
Despite Ohio State being in his backyard, the Wolverines get the jump on an emerging talent from the state down south.
Rated a three-star by 247Sports, Kalil Branham had offers from Cincinnati, Kentucky and Wake Forest. And while he had one 247Sports Crystal Ball in Ohio State’s favor (despite not having an offer), coming from a family of Michigan fans, Branham made the choice to go Blue.
Branham announced on Twitter on Tuesday evening that he’s made the pledge to start out the Wolverines 2020 class, as he’s the first to join.
Rated 321st overall, regardless of position, Branham is the 36th-best wide receiver in the 2020 class, and the 5th-best player in the state of Ohio.
Branham hinted last week that a commitment to the Wolverines could be in his future, with a video he posted to Twitter of him catching balls from a machine, with the hashtag “#GoBlue.”
Now, he’s already turned his focus to fellow 2020 prospect Paris Johnson from Cincinnati (OH) St. Xavier, a five-star in the 247Sports Composite at 8th overall.
