Michigan ‘At The Top’ For 2019 Belleville DE

The Wolverines catapult to be the leader for a newly offered in-state product.

Michigan ‘At The Top’ For 2019 Belleville DE

It was late in the game for 2019 Belleville (MI) DE Tyrece Woods…

The former Detroit (MI) King standout has been a frequent visitor to Ann Arbor since Jim Harbaugh took over the reins in 2015.

He kept working, showing up to camps like SMSB, netting some MAC-level offers along the way. But finally, on Monday, a dream came true for Woods, with his hometown Wolverines extending an offer, he reported on Twitter.

Woods might not have the ranking that will make star-gazers swoon, coming in as a two-star recruit per 247Sports. But having seen the 6-Foot-2, 240-pound weak-side DE play in person, The now-Belleville Tiger has the chops to make a name for himself.

And now, he’ll get the chance to don the uniform he always dreamed of.

“I was at a loss for words,” Woods told WolverinesWire. “It means a lot. Growing up, my dad loved Michigan, and it just sunk in on me and ever since then, I had dreams of running out the tunnel at The Big House (and) touching the banner.”

With the Michigan offer, Woods tells WolverinesWire that Michigan “currently sits at the top,” as his new leader.
